Since its creation in 2021, Yoni Solutions has increasingly established itself as an innovative player in the field of women’s health. Founded by Virginia Franco, a doctor and gynaecologist, the start-up offers vaginal microbiota tests, with the aim of recommending suitable probiotics. While the company is already well established in Switzerland and Europe, it is now setting out to conquer China, where its probiotics are already being marketed. With excellent customer feedback and a second clinical study underway, Yoni Solutions is keen to strengthen its international expansion and market positioning.
Supported by The Ark Incubator, Yoni Solutions uses advanced technology to analyse vaginal microbiota and offer personalised solutions. ‘Our aim is to improve women’s health by offering them tests and probiotics tailored to their specific needs’, explains Virginia Franco. The company’s tests and probiotics are already available in Switzerland and Europe through a network of partner doctors. At the same time, Yoni Solutions has begun its development in China, where customer feedback has already begun and is very positive. ‘We’ve had excellent feedback from our customers, which confirms the potential of our product,’ she adds.
Extending the range and boosting sales
To strengthen its international presence, Yoni Solutions faces a number of challenges. The first is to expand its product offering and increase sales in China and Europe. ‘It’s essential to get the right messages across about our product and to raise our profile in the field and beyond,’ stresses Virginia Franco.
Another major challenge over the coming months is to continue the scientific validation of the technology. A second clinical study is under way and should be published by the end of 2025, reinforcing the company’s credibility. ‘This clinical study is a key step in demonstrating the effectiveness of our solution in the field of fertility,’ she explains. A first clinical study has already been published in 2024 in collaboration with the gynaecology department of one of the largest hospitals in Latin America, the University Clinic of Sao Paulo.
Finally, Yoni Solutions is looking for investment to support its growth. ‘We’re on the right track, but investment remains a challenge. However, we are confident because we have a quality product, which is essential to convince investors and the sector’, concludes Virginia Franco.
A solid base at BioArk in Monthey
Since its creation, Yoni Solutions has been based at BioArk in Monthey, an ecosystem conducive to innovation. ‘We thrive at BioArk, which offers an ideal environment in which to develop our business,’ says Virginia Franco.
With its technology, ongoing international expansion and clear ambition, Yoni Solutions is well positioned to become a major player in women’s health. The coming years will be crucial in confirming this position and reaching new markets.
