BioJapan 2026 will bring together biotechnology, pharmaceutical and Life Sciences organisations in Yokohama from 7 to 9 October. Among the Swiss participants, ten23 health, Curio Biotech and REM Analytics will represent complementary capabilities available in Valais, from sterile drug product manufacturing to human-relevant in vitro research and precision microbiome analysis.
BioJapan combines an exhibition with a dedicated partnering programme. Participating organisations can use the platform to identify potential clients, research partners, investors, licensing opportunities and specialised service providers before the event.
The Swiss Pavilion will bring together companies, startups and ecosystem organisations active across pharmaceutical manufacturing, cell and gene therapy, diagnostics, drug discovery and clinical research.
The pavilion is organised by Swiss Business Hub Japan and Switzerland Global Enterprise, alongside Swissnex in Japan, the Swiss Biotech Association and Switzerland Innovation.
Three capabilities from the Valais ecosystem
Three participating companies have direct operations in Valais. Together, they illustrate the range of expertise available within the regional Life Sciences environment.
ten23 health: development and manufacturing of sterile drug products
ten23 health is a Swiss contract development and manufacturing organisation specialising in sterile injectable drug products.
Its services cover formulation, analytical and process development, aseptic filling, testing and regulatory support. The company operates manufacturing and quality-control facilities in Visp, including infrastructure for pre-filled syringes, vials and cartridges.
In April 2026, ten23 health also opened an office in Tokyo to support its activities in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region. BioJapan provides an opportunity to discuss development, scale-up and manufacturing requirements directly with its team.
Curio Biotech: human-relevant in vitro research
Based at BioArk in Visp, Curio Biotech is a specialised in vitro contract research organisation.
The company works with primary human cell cultures, advanced 3D tissue models and ex vivo systems. Its platforms support screening, efficacy and safety studies, mechanism-of-action research, biomarker discovery and other translational development activities.
At BioJapan, Curio Biotech will be able to engage with pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations looking for human-relevant models to inform early research and non-clinical development decisions.
REM Analytics: precision microbiome measurement
Located at BioArk in Monthey, REM Analytics develops analytical solutions for identifying and quantifying individual microbial species.
Its work covers clinical diagnostics, microbiome research and agricultural applications. Current fields of application include vaginal and gut microbiome analysis, clinical studies, probiotic validation and biomarker research.
The company’s participation creates a direct entry point for organisations seeking analytical collaboration around complex microbial ecosystems.
From specialist expertise to operational collaboration
The three companies address different stages and requirements within Life Sciences development:
- human-relevant research models and translational data
- microbiome measurement and biomarker applications
- formulation, testing, scale-up and sterile manufacturing
Their presence at BioJapan provides Japanese and international organisations with a practical view of several capabilities available in Valais. It also reflects the region’s broader connection between scientific development, specialised infrastructure and industrial execution.
Companies evaluating the Valais ecosystem can explore BioArk’s Life Sciences community, specialised infrastructure and the wider scale-up and manufacturing environment.
