On 5 October 2026, BioArk Visp welcomed an Italian Life Sciences delegation as part of the Swiss Biotech Tour, organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). A day dedicated to connecting companies, sharing expertise and strengthening ties between the Swiss and Italian Life Sciences ecosystems.
On the programme
The visit opened with contributions from Massimo Nobile (BioArk), Serge Ballestraz (Promotion économique Valais), Luca Valenziano (Embassy of Italy in Switzerland) and Jacopo Berton (Italian Trade Agency).
Local innovation took centre stage with presentations by Michael Schweizer (Lugaia) and Sébastien Walpen (Ceidos), followed by exchanges with the Italian companies.
The programme continued with a networking lunch, joined by Laurent Ducry (Kodiak Sciences), and presentations highlighting the region’s Life Sciences capabilities: Sandra Ansanay-Alex (BioAlps) on the Western Switzerland ecosystem, Sylvain Aumonier (Fondation The Ark & CimArk) on the Valais industrial landscape, and Sergio Schmid (HES-SO Valais-Wallis) on applied research.
The day concluded with a visit to MINTworld Visp, where Diego Pfammatter (Lonza) and Pascal Nyfeler (MINTworld) highlighted the importance of education and talent development for the Life Sciences industry.
Strengthening Ties
Beyond the presentations, the visit provided opportunities for direct exchanges and laid the groundwork for lasting connections between the two ecosystems.
BioArk warmly thanks the Italian Trade Agency, the delegation and all participating companies and partners for their contributions.
