Scientastic, the science festival, is back in Valais

The Scientastic festival will take place in Sion on 17 and 18 May for its fourth edition in Valais at the EPFL Valais Wallis site.

Following the success of last November’s edition in Lausanne, the theme ‘Discover science!’ will be presented to the Valais public for the first time.

People of all ages will be able to discover what goes on behind the scenes in science through fun and educational workshops (registration required) where they can get hands-on, create and experiment.

  • Young audience – ages 4 to 13  : Five fun science workshops specially designed for the occasion invite budding young scientists to explore the scientific process while having fun.
  • Workshop for adults (or children aged 13 and over accompanied by an adult): Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the human brain with experiments to help you better understand how it works.

Meet the scientists

The public will be able to discover the EPFL Valais Wallis laboratories through stands and tours, as well as by listening to fascinating lectures. It will also be an opportunity to talk to the researchers who are at the heart of the scientific and technological advances of our time.

A big scientific treasure hunt awaits everyone!

Armed with a treasure map, participants will set off in search of questions hidden throughout the festival. A nice souvenir gift awaits the scientific detectives. It’s a fun and interactive way to explore the festival while learning.

Highlight of the festival: a place to discuss, experiment, question, understand and learn… the interactive exhibition HOW DOES IT WORK?

This exhibition will immerse visitors in the beating heart of science through around twenty experiments exploring major scientific discoveries and helping them understand how science influences our daily lives.

See you on 17 and 18 May from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the ALPOLE building of the EPFL in Sion.
