Monthey City acquires the Djeva site for BioArk future technology park

The purpose of this exchange between the municipality of Monthey and Satom is twofold. A large part of the site of the former Djevahirdjian factory, which closed its doors in 2021 after one hundred and seven years of activity in the manufacture of synthetic gemstones, is now in municipal hands.

The Satom company, which had bought the land, will finally exchange it with the town of Monthey.

The purpose of this exchange is twofold. Firstly, the municipality of Monthey will be able to transform the Djeva area into an industrial and commercial zone for future BioArk buildings, for which there is growing demand.

The third BioArk, inaugurated last October, will already be full by the end of this year. We need to consider the construction of a fourth and fifth building. This plot of land in Djeva would be ideal for a real technology park. A sort of campus where different training courses, start-ups and SMEs come together, and which would fit in perfectly with the area, which is surrounded by housing“, explains Stéphane Coppey.
