  • What are the current challenges in raising awareness of STEM professions, and how is MINTworld tackling them in innovative ways?
  • What synergies can be developed between local entrepreneurs and MINTworld to support the education and career guidance of young people?

Rendez-vous on January 25from 12:15 to 1:15 pm

International competition is strongly driven by the availability of skilled workers, innovative minds and young talent. In addition to stable framework conditions, the most important success factor in our economy is the worker. Valais companies also rely on young talent to remain competitive and innovative.

Around twice as many people leave the workforce as enter it. The shortage of skilled workers is a major challenge for industry, particularly in technical professions. Against this backdrop, the State of Valais, Lonza and BioArk have joined forces to set up an innovative model with MINTworld, which stimulates interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills among students and young people.

MINTworld is located in the BioArk in Visp and is a world of experiences in which children and young people are inspired for STEM professions with hands-on experience and work. The aim is to rekindle this enthusiasm until they choose a career, and to attract as many people as possible to STEM professions.
