The Visp site is Lonza’s largest production hub globally and a central pillar of its drug substance activities.
The platform integrates mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, highly potent API manufacturing and bioconjugation technologies. Over time, Visp has evolved from a traditional chemical production site into a multi-modality manufacturing campus.
The site supports customers from clinical development to commercial supply, within long-term manufacturing partnerships.
Biologics and advanced therapies
Visp is a major center for biologics manufacturing, including monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins produced in large-scale bioreactors.
The site also hosts capabilities in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), combining biologics and highly potent payloads within controlled environments.
Lonza has invested significantly in expanding biomanufacturing capacity in Visp over the past decade, reinforcing its position in advanced therapeutics and complex modalities.
