On Tuesday, May 19, more than 30 members of the Swiss Health Valley community gathered in Geneva for a new edition of the INSIDE series, co-organised by BioAlps Association and BioArk, this time hosted by TRB Chemedica.
An evening designed to go beyond company presentations and offer participants a genuine immersion into the culture, vision and ambitions of an international biopharmaceutical company deeply rooted in Switzerland.
A Swiss company with a global footprint
Founded in Geneva in 1985, TRB Chemedica has built its development around a clear mission: improving patients’ quality of life through innovative therapies in rheumatology, ophthalmology and rare diseases.
During the event, participants discovered how the company combines scientific expertise, entrepreneurial agility and long-term commitment to innovation to address unmet medical needs across international markets.
The discussions also highlighted TRB Chemedica’s evolution over the years, its strategic positioning and its patient-first approach, a guiding principle that shapes both research activities and business decisions.
From therapeutic innovation to real-world impact
The evening also offered a closer look at several of TRB Chemedica’s therapeutic solutions and areas of expertise.
Participants gained insights into the company’s work in hyaluronic acid-based therapies and treatments designed to improve mobility, joint health and patients’ quality of life. The presentations illustrated how TRB Chemedica translates scientific know-how into products used daily by healthcare professionals and patients worldwide.
This concrete connection between research, development and patient outcomes resonated strongly throughout the exchanges.
A behind-the-scenes visit of cutting-edge facilities
One of the highlights of the INSIDE event was the opportunity to step behind the scenes of TRB Chemedica’s biopharmaceutical operations and engage directly with the teams driving innovation across the company.
Through open discussions and a guided visit of the company’s state-of-the-art facilities, participants gained concrete insights into the realities of developing, manufacturing and bringing therapies to patients in an increasingly demanding healthcare environment.
From R&D and production processes to international growth and industrial excellence, the exchanges highlighted the expertise, precision and long-term vision required to maintain high-level biopharmaceutical capabilities within Switzerland’s life sciences ecosystem.
Connections that matter
Beyond the presentations, the event once again demonstrated the importance of bringing together the different actors of Western Switzerland’s life sciences ecosystem.
Entrepreneurs, researchers, industry experts and innovation stakeholders shared ideas, experiences and perspectives in a warm and collaborative atmosphere, exactly what the INSIDE series aims to encourage.
A sincere thank you to Philippe Tivollier and the entire TRB Chemedica team for opening their doors and sharing their journey with the community.
