Explore-Experimente-Imagine! confirms the value of early science discovery in Valais

The second edition of “Explore – Experimente – Imagine!” took place on October 7, 2026, at the Foire du Valais, in the Espace Innothèque. Despite an unexpected disruption to the morning program, more than 60 children and young people participated in the afternoon’s activities.

Organized by BioArk, the interactive mini-exhibition brought young people and families closer to science, technology and life sciences through practical activities, demonstrations and direct exchanges with teachers, training coordinators and apprentices.

The temporary closure of CERM 2 following a security alert prevented the activities from taking place in the morning. However, the participating institutions were able to welcome visitors from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event confirmed a simple point: interest in science often starts with a concrete experience. A question, an experiment or a discussion with someone in the field can make a scientific pathway easier to picture.

Connecting curiosity with education and careers

This second edition brought together three complementary partners: MINTworld Visp, Campus EPTM (EPIC) and the HES-SO Valais-Wallis, including its Digital Life Sciences program.

Together, they illustrated the different pathways available in Valais, from early scientific discovery to vocational training, higher education and lifelong learning.

In Valais, life sciences are closely linked to practical skills, technical expertise and education. Making these pathways visible from an early age helps young people understand where science can lead.

Reaching beyond the exhibition

Conversations with families showed that some visitors were discovering educational opportunities in Valais for the first time.

The Foire du Valais provided additional visibility for these programs, complementing the communication efforts of the participating institutions. For example, an Instagram Reel featuring Pascal from MINTworld Visp reached more than 22,000 people.

BioArk also contacted schools across Valais before and after the event to share information about the activities and the educational opportunities offered by the partners.

BioArk thanks all participating institutions, their teams, visitors and families who contributed to this second edition.
