Founded in 2001 as an EPFL spin-off, ExcellGene SA was one of the pioneering biotechnology companies present during BioArk’s early development in Monthey.
Over 25 years, the company has grown into an internationally active biotechnology business with specialised capabilities in mammalian cell protein expression and bioprocess development. Its journey reflects the depth of scientific and industrial expertise developed within the Valais Life Sciences ecosystem.
This anniversary also marks a leadership transition from co-founder Maria Wurm to new CEO Luca Valeggia.
