First class launched in the Digital Life Sciences program

Ten students started the Digital Life Sciences program, in September 2025, at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis School of Engineering, could you be next? Two information sessions, both digital and in-person, will be held in February.

In September 2025, ten students inaugurated the first class of the Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences Engineering – Digital Life Sciences at HES-SO Valais-Wallis, the only program of its kind in French-speaking Switzerland. This pioneering program meets the growing needs of industry by training hybrid profiles capable of mastering the processing and interpretation of complex scientific data, supporting the development of new industrial processes, and implementing process automation.

A bilingual program at the interface of life sciences and digital technology

The Digital Life Sciences specialization is offered in French and German at the Energypolis campus in Sion. It is part of the Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences Engineering, which offers four specializations: Digital Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, and Food Technology and Biotechnology. The curriculum includes specialized modules in complex data processing, with personalized choices in biotechnology, analytical chemistry, or food technology.

Digital Life Sciences Program – Get registered for 2026

The upcoming information sessions in February are the perfect opportunity to learn more about the program and talk to teachers and the first students of the 2025 cohort.

The next information sessions are scheduled for:

  • Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 6 p.m., online (Register here)
  • Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the Energypolis campus in Sion (Register here)

Student for a day” events are also organized in the spring and fall for each of the four specializations, allowing you to attend classes, visit the labs, and ask questions in person !
