Bioscibex, the biotech company based at BioArk in Monthey, has been awarded support through the Innosuisse Scale-up Innovation Programme (SIP). The support will help the company accelerate the deployment of its SW1NGO cell culture technology across Europe.
The new Innosuisse support marks another important step in the development of Bioscibex, following a year that has already included the commercial development of SW1NGO and the company’s victory at the 2026 Prix Créateurs BCVS.
Simplifying cell culture for biopharmaceutical manufacturing
Bioscibex develops SW1NGO, an automated single-use bioreactor designed to simplify cell culture processes for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Cell culture is a key step in the production of biologics and other advanced therapies, but conventional processes involve multiple operations and manual interventions. Bioscibex has developed SW1NGO to integrate this process into a more streamlined system, covering cell culture volumes from 30 mL to 30 L.
The technology is primarily aimed at biopharmaceutical companies and contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs).
Supporting the European deployment of SW1NGO
The support awarded through the Innosuisse Scale-up Innovation Programme will help Bioscibex accelerate the deployment of SW1NGO across Europe.
For the Monthey-based company, this represents a new stage in bringing its technology to biopharmaceutical companies and CDMOs seeking simpler and more efficient approaches to cell culture.
Another milestone after the 2026 Prix Créateurs BCVS
The announcement comes a few months after Bioscibex won the 2026 Prix Créateurs BCVS in Sion.
In June, the company received 44.7% of the public vote and won the CHF 25,000 prize, comprising CHF 10,000 in cash and CHF 15,000 in coaching. The award highlighted the potential of SW1NGO and brought regional attention to a technology being developed from Monthey.
The Innosuisse support adds a new dimension to this trajectory, as Bioscibex moves towards broader deployment of SW1NGO in the European biopharmaceutical market.
Developing biotech innovation from Monthey
Founded in 2024, Bioscibex is based at BioArk in Monthey and is supported by the Fondation The Ark incubator.
Its development reflects the specialised biotechnology activities present in Valais, particularly around biopharmaceutical manufacturing and bioprocessing.
With this new Innosuisse support, Bioscibex can pursue the deployment of SW1NGO and strengthen its presence with biopharmaceutical companies and CDMOs across Europe.
