Bioscibex, a biotech startup based at BioArk TechPark in Monthey and supported by Fondation The Ark, has been awarded the 2026 Prix Créateurs BCVS. The prize was presented on June 11 in Sion during an event gathering more than 450 participants, highlighting some of the most promising innovation projects in Valais.
A different approach to cell therapy production
At the heart of this recognition is SW1NGO, a bioreactor developed by Bioscibex to rethink how cell therapies are manufactured. Instead of relying on a sequence of complex steps, the system brings the process into a single, more streamlined workflow. The result is a reduction in both production costs and contamination risks : two persistent challenges in the field.
The technology is aimed at improving the production of treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases, with a broader goal of making these therapies easier to scale and access.
A timely launch on the international stage This distinction comes at a key moment for the company. SW1NGO was recently introduced to the market at ESACT 2026 in Salzburg, one of the main international gatherings for cell culture and bioprocessing specialists. The award reinforces the visibility gained during this launch phase.
Public support and clear ambition
Bioscibex stood out with 44.7% of the public vote, reflecting strong interest in both the relevance and the potential of its solution. Led by co-founders Chloé Albietz and François Carruzzo, the company combines scientific expertise with a clear focus on real-world application. The prize includes CHF 25,000, divided between financial support and coaching.
An ecosystem that enables growth
Beyond the startup itself, the award also underlines the role of BioArk and its BioArk Tech Park in Monthey and Fondation The Ark in supporting innovation. By offering infrastructure and guidance, they help translate research into concrete solutions. Bioscibex illustrates how this environment can accelerate the path from idea to implementation.
A benchmark for innovation in Valais
Since its creation in 2007 by Promotion économique Valais and Banque Cantonale du Valais, the Prix Créateurs BCVS has become a key platform for emerging companies in the region. This year’s finalists: Sof-IA, Aerostrad, Adiutor, and Olymra, will have another opportunity to present their projects at the Foire du Valais in October, where the Audience Award will be decided.
